I think she makes frequent hospital trips, under various pretenses, so that she can get prescription pain medication. It is her 'quick' fix when she is partying too much and forgets to fill her Rx or she runs out of her stash. She can cry and get IV meds and then put in her request for valium, sleeping pills and some sort of heavy duty pain med and she's good to go!
