Methadone and two antidepressants caused Anna Nicole' Smith's son to die. Saddening. My question is, was he addicted to heroin ant one point? Why was he on Methadone?Labels: Anna Nicole Smith, Death

Sometimes Methadone is used for pain not just heroin addiction.
Oddly enough - 20/20 just had a piece on how methadone is now being prescribed as a pain killer (ever since FDA started cracking down on Oxycodon). Apparently there have been a rash of deaths (from 1 pill) b/c there just isn't that much know on it's effects, proper dosage, how to prescribe/manage usage etc.
The son apparently had back problems in the recent months....
